Amiata: Tuscan Cuisine

A little piece of Tuscany in the centre of Prague – that’s Amiata (named after an extinct volcano in southern Tuscany). It focuses on cucina povera, that is, authentic Tuscan cuisine based on simplicity and high-quality ingredients. The menu features homemade pasta, including Tuscan pici, meat, fish and other delicacies. The wine cellar is a chapter in its own right, featuring a curated selection of Italian wines from smaller wineries.

Montenapo Sandwich & Bar

Montenapo has already opened two branches in Prague – in Žižkov and in Malá Strana. It is a sandwich bar run by brothers Giovanni and Raffael Piscicelli Taeggi, who have brought the atmosphere of Milan’s paninoteks. You can pop in here for sandwiches made with top-quality Italian ingredients (Parma ham DOP, Fior di latte mozzarella, truffle oil).

SASY 

Right in the heart of Prague, you’ll find the newly opened trattoria SASY – a little piece of Naples in Prague. As well as authentic Neapolitan pizza, you can also try other Neapolitan specialities here, including, for example, pasta patate e provola!

Labonetta

Another Naples-based establishment in Prague is Labonetta. You may be familiar with this pizzeria thanks to its takeaway counters in Kobylisy and Horní Měcholupy, to which a small bistro in Prosek has been added this year.

A unique restaurant

Fireplace

A family-run restaurant owned by brothers Marek and Jan Macháč, which blends its Beskydy roots with modern urban cuisine. The menu features both an excellent lunch menu and the ‘Rest in Food’ tasting menu, as well as more playful options Street Food to share.

Bishop

A new concept from the Ambiente group, combining a restaurant with a farm shop. It is based on simple, modern Czech cuisine and smaller portions designed to allow guests to sample a variety of dishes. Alongside the restaurant is a shop selling farm-fresh produce, salads and takeaway meals.

Bakeries & cafés

Tisse Bakery Karlín

A new branch – the fourth to date – of the renowned artisan bakery TISSE, this time in the new Block building by the Urxova tram stop. TISSE is best known for its butter croissants, Danish pastries and sourdough bread. In Karlín, they’ve also added a brunch menu and seating in the courtyard.

55 Bakery

A Scandinavian-style bakery and café right next to the Švanda Theatre, on the border between Smíchov and Malá Strana. Every day they bake sourdough bread, French baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia, filled croissants, bow-tie pastries and snails. There’s also a breakfast menu and coffee from the Nordbeans roastery.

Pleiku Coffee

A Vietnamese café just a stone’s throw from Palmovka. Pleiku specialises in a wide range of speciality coffees that you won’t usually find on the European market. It also offers an all-day breakfast and brunch menu (omelettes, scrambled eggs, granola, porridge with black sesame, and Asian-inspired vegetarian dishes).

ÜND café

A new addition to Letná from the duo behind the popular Gemüse Corner Kebab. You’ll find the ÜND bakery and café right next to the Letná branch of Gemüse Corner. From the display case, you can choose from Danish tebirkes with marzipan and poppy seeds, cinnamon monkey bread, cardamom rolls or the local speciality, the Gemüse Corner Danish, along with sourdough bread, rolls and focaccia.
