The best study/work cafés in Prague
1. Cafedu
Address: Škrétova 490, Prague 2
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 7.30 am–10.00 pm, Sat–Sun: 9.00 am–9.00 pm
#kamvpraze tip: Cafedu is probably the best-known student café in Prague, so it’s usually packed. We recommend booking in advance!
2. SmetanaQ

Opening hours: Mon–Thu: 9.00 am–9.00 pm, Fri–Sat: 9.00 am–10.00 pm, Sun: 9.00 am–8.00 pm
#kamvpraze tip: Treat yourself and pop into SmetanaQ for brunch as well as for work! After a lovely breakfast, you’ll find working a real joy.
3. Kolektor
Address: Dukelských hrdinů 530/47, Prague 7, Holešovice
Opening hours: Sun–Tue: 9.00–22.00, Wed–Sat: 9.00–24.00
#kamvpraze tip: You can easily spend the whole day and night at Kolektor – they serve brilliant breakfasts, coffee, soft drinks and sweet treats, as well as main courses, draught beer and cocktails!
4. Kavárna Kampus
Address: Hybernská 4, Prague 1
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 9.00 am–10.00 pm, Sat: 10.00 am–9.00 pm, Sun: Closed
#kamvpraze tip: You may still know the café on the Hybernská Campus as Kavárna Hlína. The newly refurbished café offers seasonal treats, great coffee, a courtyard garden, lunch and a children’s play area! But please note, they do not take bookings.
5. The Scout Institute
Address: Old Town Square 4/1, Prague 1
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 9.00 am–10.00 pm, Sat: 10.00 am–9.30 pm, Sun: 12.00 pm–5.30 pm
#kamvpraze tip: The Scout Institute is a favourite haunt for most students. As well as in Old Town Square, you’ll find it in Kampa in Prague, and also in eight other towns and cities across the Czech Republic!
6. Minimise waste

7. Mama Coffee

#kamvpraze tip: Mama Coffee is one of our favourites. It has a total of five branches in Prague, plus two further cafés – Kavárna Pod Lipami and the charity café Kafe Nezisk!
8. Kavárna co hledá jméno

#kamvpraze tip: A cosy café in a former joinery workshop, famous for its Eggs Benedict. In the spring and summer months, you can enjoy sitting outside – something we highly recommend!
9. The Miners

10. Místo

11. Coffee mugs

#kamvpraze tip: Kafe a Hrnky isn’t just a café, but also a pottery studio! So if you’ve got a bit of time to spare between studying or work and you’re feeling up to it, do check out their workshops. Otherwise, we recommend visiting in the spring or summer months to enjoy their oasis of calm – the sun-drenched courtyard garden!
12. The café area at the NTK
Address: Technická 2710, Prague 6
Opening hours: Sun–Thu: 9.00–21.00, Fri–Sat: 9.00–22.00
#kamvpraze tip: Cafe prostoru is a café within the National Technical Library (NTK), a popular place to study. As well as serving great coffee, it often hosts various lectures and other events, so keep an eye on their website so you don’t miss out on anything interesting!
13. Typika
Address: Svatoslavova 21, Prague 4, Nusle
Opening hours: Mon–Fri: 7.30 am–9.00 pm, Sat–Sun: 9.00 am–7.00 pm
#kamvpraze tip: We recommend popping in for brunch as well as for work or study! Typika also has its own espresso bar in Vršovice (though you can’t sit down to work there) and they’ll soon be opening a third branch in Holešovice!
14. Ema
