22 tips for our favourite outdoor dining spots in Prague
Cafés and bistros
Café Truhlárna
A cosy café serving speciality coffee from the Doubleshot roastery, along with delicious cakes and tarts, nestled right in the historic Franciscan Gardens, just a few steps from Wenceslas Square. You’ll also find plenty of board games here – such as Super Chess!

The Skautský institut Café in Rybárna
The Scout Institute’s café is located in the Michnovský Summer Palace, right on the Kampa. What do we love most about this place? The view of the Vltava and the Old Town – it really is unique. As well as coffee and beer, you can come here to enjoy a rich cultural programme and workshops.

Ema Espresso Bar (Holešovice branch)
Ema is one of our favourite cafés in Prague, and we reckon their new Holešovice branch, set in the grounds of a former brewery, is their best yet. Spacious, airy, with a generous outdoor seating area and its own on-site roastery. Ema in Holešovice is dog-friendly, work-friendly and baby-friendly – in short, it’s for everyone!

Vnitroblock
A multifunctional creative centre in Holešovice, between Tusarova and Dělnická streets – a café, restaurant, bakery, gallery and a packed programme of events, all under one roof. The outdoor seating area in the industrial courtyard is perfect for brunch or an afternoon beer.

Tisse Bakery (Vinohrady branch)
This French-inspired bakery, specialising in sourdough bread and butter pastries, is home to one of the prettiest courtyard gardens in Vinohrady. Pop in for brunch, a coffee and, above all, their croissants!

Cukrárna Alchymista
A magical oasis tucked away in Bubeneč, not far from Letenské sady. A family-run patisserie with a tradition stretching back more than twenty-five years, offering a seasonal selection of homemade cakes and coffee from its own roastery. In our opinion, the garden by the little pond here is one of the most romantic spots to sit in the whole of Prague.

Coffee and Mugs
A café and pottery studio in one, in the heart of Prague’s Lesser Town. The lovely courtyard garden, complete with a children’s play area, makes the café the ideal spot for a family visit.

Villa 63
A beautifully restored First Republic-era villa in Vinohrady with a spacious garden, excellent brunches and premium coffee. Ideal for hosting family celebrations, garden parties and wedding receptions.

Bistro Karel
A bistro with a lovely garden right next to Troja Castle – one of the most beautiful outdoor dining spots in Prague. The perfect place to stop off on a trip to the zoo or a stroll through Troja.

Bistro Monk 2 (Lesser Town)
A brunch bistro in Malá Strana with a garden terrace and original – and, above all, delicious – brunch dishes. Try their famous pancakes with blueberry sauce or their delicious bread with sweet potato spread.

Osada
Hidden behind an unassuming gate on Osadní Street lies one of our favourite courtyards in Holešovice – the Osada café. Speciality coffee from the Nordbeans roastery in Liberec, delicious breakfasts and brunches, homemade baked goods and natural wines in the evening. Plus, it’s completely dog- and laptop-friendly.

Honest Taste
A cosy brunch bistro with a garden in a courtyard just a few steps from I.P. Pavlova. Excellent breakfasts and brunches, a pleasant atmosphere and, above all, a lovely garden.

Share Sweet Bar
A completely plant-based bistro and bar, serving brilliant brunches and evening tapas and drinks. What’s more, they make fantastic cakes and other desserts, which you can even order made to order!

Cocovan – Střelecký Island
A boho-style coffee van on Střelecký Island serving excellent coffee, lemonades and light refreshments. A truly unique spot in Prague, ideal for a summer picnic with a stunning view of the city.

Café in the Garden
A lovely little garden in the courtyard of a café in Nusle, Prague 4. You can pop in here for brunch, a coffee or a matcha.

Restaurant
Luka Lu
A popular restaurant in Malá Strana that combines the cuisine of the former Yugoslavia with an Italian twist. As well as excellent food, you’ll find a lovely setting, enhanced by the local garden in the courtyard.

Kuchyň
A restaurant boasting one of the finest views of Prague – a direct view of Hradčany and the rooftops of Malá Strana from Prague Castle. The food here is on the pricey side, but the outdoor terrace alone is reason enough to visit – even if it’s just for a quick beer whilst standing and to take in the magical view.

Garden’s
A restaurant near Wenceslas Square with a beautiful courtyard. The prices are on the high side, but the quality and atmosphere make it well worth it. We recommend it for business meetings.

Café Cathedral
A hidden gem of a restaurant right in the heart of the Old Town, just next to Týn Church – a true oasis of calm amidst the tourist hustle and bustle. You can visit Café Cathedral for brunch or a romantic dinner – take a seat in the garden, which is truly magical!

Beer gardens
Letná Beer Garden
A renowned summer garden with panoramic views of Prague and the Vltava – ideal for a beer with friends after work.

Pragovka Permanent
A beer garden on the Pragovka site in Vysočany, one of the few that’s open all year round. With its industrial atmosphere, a selection of fine beers and a programme of events, Pragovka is a great alternative to traditional pubs.

Holešovická tržnice
Strictly speaking, Holešovická tržnice isn’t a traditional beer garden – but for us, it’s one of the best places for al fresco dining in Prague. The industrial complex of the historic market hall features a food truck zone, an open-air cinema, pop-up bars, plenty of great events throughout the year and, quite simply, a unique atmosphere that is unrivalled in Prague.
